Dr Husra Mohamed Hussain
MBBS, FRACGP
Dr. Husra graduated in 2006 from Sri Lanka, bringing with her a wealth of medical expertise and a compassionate approach to patient care. In 2016, she migrated to Australia with her family and began her journey at Rockhampton Base Hospital before transitioning into General Practice in 2018. She achieved her Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2021, cementing her commitment to providing exceptional healthcare.
Dr. Husra is dedicated to serving diverse communities, including mainstream and multicultural populations.
She has special interests in Women’s Health- Including contraception – Implanon insertion; Child Health and childhood immunisations; Health of Young Parents; Men’s Health; Mental Health; Chronic Disease Management; and Travel Medicine.
Fluent in English, Tamil, and Sinhala, Dr. Husra ensures language is never a barrier to care. She is passionate about helping individuals and families achieve their best health outcomes in a supportive and culturally sensitive environment
Dr. Dewald (Wald) Hattingh
MBChB, BMedSci, FRACGP, Cert Aest Med, Cert ClinOcc Med, ANZSOM
Dr. Wald Hattingh graduated from medicine school in 2001 in South Africa. He obtained 2 degrees both in medicine and in medical science. Dr. Hattingh spent 3 years in the UK working as both a private GP as well as working in a famous medical clinic situated on Harley Street in London. He has been in Australia since July 2007 and has enjoyed getting to know the friendly people of Central Queensland. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practice.
Dr. Hattingh has a special interest in children’s health and in treating young families. He is qualified in Aesthetic (Anti Aging medicine) through the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine. He is also interested in men’s health and sporting injuries.
Dr. Hattingh is Nominated Medical Advisor for the Coalboard and perform Coal Board Medical examinations and pre-employment assessments regularly. In 2016 he did further training in Clinical Occupational medicine through Monash University in Melbourne.
He is a well-rounded GP that treats all aspects of his patient’s general health concerns. Dr. Hattingh continues to contribute to the health of the region of Rockhampton and he looks forward to meeting you.
Dr. Nivine Farage
MBBCH, MRCP(UK), DRSH, MRCGP, FRACGP, Grad Dip Occ Env H.
Before working in general practice, Dr Farage trained as a general physician in England and earned her MRCP in 2001 when she became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians, London. She has experience in the management of acute and chronic medical conditions.
Her passion for holistic care led her to become a general practitioner. She attained Membership in the Royal College of General Practitioners, UK (MRCGP) in 2003. She worked as a GP in Norwich, England, until she moved to Rockhampton in 2007.
Dr Farage is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) 2007. Dr Farage has enjoyed serving the CQ community as a GP since 2007.
Dr Farage is passionate about caring for families and all aspects of general practice. In addition, she has an interest in managing chronic medical conditions, skin problems, women’s health and occupational medicine. Dr Farage also takes an interest in work-related injury management and return to work. She attained the Diploma of Occupational and Environmental Health from Monash University in 2020.
In addition to clinical aspects of her field, Dr Farage has academic interests. She is a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland and examiner for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and the Australian Medical Council.
Dr. Imran Hussain

Dr. Imran Hussain obtained his MBBS degree in 1991. In 2005 he moved to Emerald, QLD from a beautiful Caribbean island called Trinidad and Tobago. For the last 11 years, he has been successfully working as a GP in this region of Australia. In 2013 he moved to Rockhampton from Emerald to as a team member at this practice.
Dr. Hussain is married with two children, he and his family have been a part of Central Queensland for more than a decade.
Dr. Hussain successfully completed Australian Medical Council(AMC)exam in 2007, obtained his fellowship (FRACGP) in 2012 from The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, Diploma in Child Health (DCH) from the University of Sydney in 2013. He also completed a certificate course in Clinical Occupational Medicine from Monash University in 2016.
Dr. Hussain enjoys working as a General Practitioner with main stream and multi-cultural populations. He has a special interest in child health, health of young parents, men’s health, mental health, chronic diseases, travel medicine and occupational medicine.
Dr. Hussain communicates well in English, Bengali and Hindi language.
Dr. Monica Gantus
(MD) Universidad Nacional de Rosario; FRACGP
Dr. Monica is a graduate from Universidad Nacional De Rosario, Argentina. Her medical background is ICU, Emergency, Obstetrics and General Practice. Dr. Monica also holds a teaching degree for Primary School and a Cambridge proficiency in English.
Dr. Gantus relocated to Rockhampton in 2005 and worked in the Rockhampton Base Hospital ICU for 6years and Rehabilitation for 1 year. Dr. Monica has been working in General Practice for the last 5 years, with a special interest in Women’s Health, Chronic Diseases, Mental Health, Weight Management and Families.
Dr. Gantus communicates in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian. Dr. Monica is a family woman who loves children (she is a mother of 7) and teaching. She enjoys classical music, opera, history and arts. She also loves travelling, photography and reading.

Dr. Negar Kazemitabrizi

Dr Negar graduated from medical school in Iran back in 2010 before commencing her journey to become a General Practitioner. She joined CQ Medicentre in 2024 and brings with her more than 12 years’ experience caring for patients of all ages, with a passion for shared decision making with her patients.
She has a keen clinical interest in Chronic Disease Management, Mental Health, Children and Women’s Health (including ante and postnatal care), as well as health and lifestyle concerns.
Dr Negar is fluent in both English and Farsi.

Dr. Marco Barnard
MBChB, FRACGP, Dip Fam Med, Cert Clin Occ Med
Marco graduated in 2001 from Medical School in South Africa. He currently holds a Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) as well as Diplomas in Anaesthesiology (2003) and Family Medicine (2007). He worked in England for 8 years before moving to Australia with his family in 2011. He gained his Fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2013.
He cares, listens to and serves his community with passion and kindness to help better their health in all areas of medicine. As a father of two busy children, he developed special interests in child and family health.

Dr. Sania Rafiq

Sania obtained her MBBS degree in 2008 and successfully completed Australian Medical Council (AMC) exam in 2011. In 2012 she moved to Rockhampton from Sydney for medical training and has worked both in public and private hospitals. She completed her GP fellowship in 2017 (FRACGP) and for the last 10 years, has been successfully working as a GP in Rockhampton.
Her clinical interests include Women’s Health, Paediatric Health, Aged Care, Dementia, Palliative Care, Chronic and Complex Disease Management, and Mental Health. She also provides visiting GP services to residents of Aged Care facilities
Sania holds a diploma in palliative care and is currently doing an advanced diploma in skin cancer medicine. In addition to her GP work, she also spends one day a week working in the Rockhampton Mater Private Emergency department.

Dr. Tahera Dolon
MBBS
Dr. Tahera Dolon graduated from medical school in 2005 and has extensive experience in hospital and clinical settings. After relocating to Australia in 2010, she took some time to cherish her young children’s early years before resuming her medical career. She later spent over two years at Rockhampton Base Hospital and gained significant expertise in emergency medicine at Gladstone Hospital.
Currently, Dr. Dolon is on the cusp of achieving a significant milestone—she is nearing completion of her Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP), solidifying her status as a leading expert in primary care. Her unwavering commitment to excellence and patient-centered care is at the heart of her medical practice.
Dr. Dolon has developed strong skills in Women’s Health, Children’s Health, Chronic Disease Management, and Mental Health. She has completed the Sydney Child Health Program (SCHP) and earned a Certificate of Women’s Health through RANZCOG. Since joining CQ Medicentre Southside in 2021, she has been dedicated to providing care for patients of all ages and is available Monday to Friday. She is also passionate about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples health and working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Outside of work, Dr. Dolon enjoys traveling, engaging with the community, and spending time with family and friends. She also has a lifelong passion for writing poetry and short stories in her native language.
